Christopher L. Lalone
Director of Administration
Mr. Lalone has over 29 years of health care finance and administrative experience. Chris has been with MedBest since 1998 and has guided the growth of the organization to where it is today. Chris’ private practice, billing, accounts receivable management and academic hospital financial experience has proven instrumental in developing a successful management team at MedBest. Mr. Lalone is a member of the Medical Group Management Association.
Sheila D. Madden
Director of Human Resources
Ms. Madden is responsible for the development and direction of the Human Resources Department. Sheila has more than 20 years of experience in administration and office management, and has been with MedBest since 1998. Her focus in human resource management and internal audit has resulted in an effective and efficient approach to benefits administration, recruitment and retention and performance management. Ms. Madden is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
Susan S. Duerr
Director of Finance
Ms. Duerr has more than 26 years of accounting experience. Susan has spent the majority of her career in healthcare and is presently responsible for the completion of all financial reporting requirements for MedBest. In addition, Susan directs and supports the accounting needs for seven clients. Ms. Duerr works extensively with outside auditing firms at year end on behalf of MedBest and our contracted clients.
Director of Audit and Compliance
Ms. Sharlow has over 26 years experience in health care. Her more than 15 years experience as Director of Health Information Management for acute care hospitals affords her the insight into the complex coding and documentation issues faced by physicians. She also has additional experience working with physicians in both private and academic settings. Monica has comprehensive knowledge of healthcare industry standards, with expertise in compliance, coding, billing and medical record documentation requirements. Ms. Sharlow is a member of the American Health Information Association and the American Academy of Professional Coders.
Director of Billing Services
Mr. Polge has over 25 years of medical billing and management experience. The first 18 years were at a 550 bed non-profit hospital covering all areas of the revenue cycle. Mark worked, managed and consulted with inpatient, outpatient, clinic, and cashier/discharge functions, along with the start-up of all hospital-owned physician practices. Mark currently manages a staff of 82 that provides all aspects of revenue cycle management from coding through collections for over 400 private physicians and clinics. Mr. Polge is a member of the Upstate Medicare Division POE Advisory Group.
Associate Director of Billing
Ms. Ehrich brings 11 years of professional billing experience to MedBest. Courtney spent five years as the Billing Supervisor for a large multi-specialty practice group. She oversaw charge posting activity for an 80+ provider group. Her experience and expertise includes knowledge of provider-based billing, oncology coding, PQRI, development of encounter forms and charge-capture tracking.
